The Atlantic: Inside the Podcast Brain: Why Do Audio Stories Captivate?
Emma Rodero, communications professor, Pompeu Fabra University Barcelona.
Creating a podcast creates content that works across platforms.
It’s efficient with the right workflow, powerful in the stories it can tell and available on demand.
We started Nearly Media 2017 because podcasts were finally starting to get the audience they deserved.
It was a good time to strike out on our own, take our production skills to market and make sure there were the fewest possible podcasts with poor sound quality being made in Australia.
Like great graphic design, great podcasts can sound effortless to produce.
But it takes a lot of effort to make them sound effortless.
And we knew how and where to apply it.
Why “Nearly” Media?
Podcasts are a medium but they’re not super serious proper media, like the traditional Print, Radio, TV. Podcasts were nearly there but they don’t have to be. They’re a different beast altogether, which we like.
